Central Motorway Police Group chief Paul Keasey recently received an outstanding achievement award from TISPOL, for his work in spearheading Operation Trivium. Since his first appearance with TISPOL, Paul has galvanised road policing energy by his ground-breaking police work in organising and commanding Trivium.

Originally a multi-agency UK road police operation tackling organised mobile criminal gangs on the road, Operation Trivium has now been spread far across European borders.

Paul has been instrumental in building the TISPOL road policing relationship with Europol by developing Trivium into a refined and effective cross-border road crime operation in which Europol is a key participant.

Paul has also facilitated European police observers to visit UK operations, to see at first hand the benefits and value brought by Trivium to road policing.

The first Nordic Baltic Operation Trivium took place last month, and the first TISPOL pan European Trivium operation runs later in November 2015, when Paul will be a central to the running of  the operation for TISPOL and the member countries participating.

General Secretary Ruth Purdie said: “We are grateful to Paul for developing Trivium into a successful cross-border road policing operation. Paul also serves TISPOL well in the Road Policing Working Group where his experience and expertise in road policing, along with his drive and enthusiasm contributes significantly.
