Malta: high-intensity safety checks continue

Police in Malta were out early on Sunday morning, carrying out enforcement activity at Triq Tal-Balal at San Gwann, Triq San Gorg and Triq Regjonali, St Julians.
A total of number of 152 vehicles were stopped and inspected, a number of Court charges and Traffic Offence Tickets as listed below where issued:
Seven drivers were tested for alcohol abuse resulting in two drivers refusing to do the Breathalyser Test and one driver resulted Positive with a reading of 51.2ug/100ml
One driver was found driving a vehicle without Licence and without Insurance Policy and was informed to remove the vehicle by a Tow Truck
One driver was found without a valid Driving Licence
Seven drivers failed to present documents
Eight drivers found not making use of Seat Belt
Other offences included defective lighting, loud music, poor state of repair, driver without a TM Driving Tag, vehicle with ineffective silencer, broken side mirror, overloading and providing false particulars.
