RESULTS FROM last month’s TISPOL drink-drive enforcement operation reveal 17,006 drink-drive offences from 1,124,163 roadside breath tests. Motorists in 28 European countries were also checked for drugs, and 2,764 offences were detected. The operation took place between 1 and 7 June.
TISPOL President Aidan Reid said: “Any time a person gets behind the wheel after drinking alcohol is one time too many. These figures show that there are still people who think it’s acceptable to drink and drive.
