Lithuania achieves 11 per cent reduction in road fatalities year-on-year

In 2018 the number of people killed in traffic accidents in Lithuania was reduced by 11 per cent - thaT'S 24 FEWER THAN IN 2017. Over the last two decades, an impressive reduction in road deaths of up to 80 per cent has been achieved! Police say they are proud of the joint work done by government institutions, police, social partners, traffic organisations and other road safety partners. "We are confidently moving towards a Vision Zero," said a police spokesperson.

A festive police raid full of smiles and warm coffee held in Lithuania

During the winter holidays Lithuanian police invited drivers to a friendly “Clean driver” raid in Vilnius. Dozens drivers responded to the invitation on Facebook. While treating themselves to a warm cup of coffee, provided by Lithuanian coffee shop chain “Vero cafe”, drivers had the opportunity to have a chat with the officers, check their driving history, and ask questions that they were interested in.  

Prince Michael International Road Safety award for Project EDWARD

TISPOL representatives were at the Savoy Hotel in London today to receive a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for Project EDWARD. At the Awards Luncheon Ceremony in London, attended by a number of international leading road safety professionals, HRH Prince Michael acknowledged the outstanding commitment Project EDWARD has made to raising awareness of road safety across Europe, and presented the  TISPOL team (left to right in picture: Aidan Reid, Paolo Cestra and James Luckhurst) with his award.
