Poland's efforts to reduce casualties during winter holiday period

The winter holidays are taking place in Poland and because of it traffic police officers take action to ensure the safety of those leaving for some winter rest. 

An important element of caring for safety are inspections of buses carrying them to the place of spending holidays. During the checks, first of all the technical condition of the bus and its equipment will be checked. Of course, driver’s sobriety and his driving license as well.

28-month prison sentence for serial driving theory test impersonator

A Coventry man has been sent to prison for 2 years and 4 months for trying to sit theory driving tests for other people at 12 locations across England.

Swallaxadin Abdul Bashir, 42, was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday (8 January) for his 12 offences, which took place from October 2018 to August 2019.

Theory centre staff reported the incidents to the Driver and Vehicles Standards Agency’s (DVSA) fraud investigation team after having suspicions that he was impersonating the genuine candidates whilst taking the tests.

Because of their physical underdevelopment, children are the most vulnerable road users, especially if they are involved in pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle occupancy.

Recent studies have shown that as many as 70 to 80% of children's car seats are not used properly, and in Croatia this percentage is around 90%, neglecting the fact that proper placement of children in the car seat reduces the risk of injury and more than 90%.

Caring for the protection of children when transported in a vehicle from the earliest days should be the responsibility of every parent.
