On the 12th June 2016, Traffic Branch Personnel repaired in the area of St.Julians and Swieqi . Various ‘Road Checks’ were effected in the area St. Julian’s area as from 4.00am up to 8.00am A total of 117 vehicles were stopped and inspected with the following results;

The recent Road Policing Conference was about reducing risks on Europe's roads, and in just about every presentation we looked at risk and the risk of crime. Here are some of the take-away points from the Conference:
Criminality on our roads does not sit well. All our speakers really enforced this point, and we must remember that criminality does not see borders.

An Garda Síochána and GoSafe conducted a large scale national speed enforcement operation "Slow Down” between 7am Friday 27th May and 7am Saturday 28th May 2016.
The objective was to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads. Since 7am yesterday morning, An Garda Síochána and GoSafe has checked the speed of 176,521 vehicles with 322 detected travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.
