Guardia Civil Traffic Police in Murcia detained a truck driver under the influence of alcohol. The 40-tonne truck was stopped at a road checkpoint. Traffic Police officers observed that the truck was highly damaged in one of its sides; the damage was consistent with the truck hitting the metal barriers at the side of the highway. The driver’s behaviour showed clear symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. The alcohol tests were positive, with a level of alcohol eight times above the permitted level (1.15 mg/l).
