The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (#WD0R) is commemorated every third Sunday of November – so thius year it is Sunday 19 November - to remember the many millions killed and injured on the world’s roads, together with their families, friends and many others who are also affected. It is also a Day on which we thank the emergency services and reflect on the tremendous burden and cost of this daily continuing disaster to families, communities and countries, and on ways to halt it.
Guardia Civil Traffic Police in Murcia intercepted eleven professional drivers
under the influence of drugs and two drivers under the influence of alcohol. From the
16th to the 22nd of October 2017, and within the framework of the Ministry of Development
“Commercial Vehicles Technical Inspection Plan”, Traffic Police & DGT Officers performed
various road checkpoints along the Province. A total number of 609 vehicles were checked.
Among them, eleven professional drivers were detected with a positive result in the use of
Croatia conducted 24-speed control, from 06,00 am on 18th October till 06,00 on 19th October on the whole territory of the Republic of Croatia.
On more than 1.000 locations police officers together with fixed speed cameras caught 2.870 speed violations, which is 29% more than in April.
The peration was presented on national TV as well as on a lot of local media.
There was 15 days period prior to operation given to citizens to send locations on which they want police to measure speed.
The peration was successful and police are planning to do it again.
