The TISPOL Transport Security Activity (TSA) Project commenced on 1st December 2009 and ended on 31st July 2011, followed immediately by the first Roads Policing Activities (RPA 1) Project on the 1st of August 2011 until the 31st July 2012. There have since followed the RPA II (1st August 2012 until the 31st October 2013) , RPA III (1st October 2013 until the 31st January 2015) and RPA IV (1st March 2015 until the 28 February 2017) projects.
The aim of the projects is to raise the awareness, knowledge and good practice of TISPOL European Traffic Police members in the field of Roads Policing of Road Crime and Security, particularly in the theft of road transport cargo and goods, the carriage of stolen and prohibited items, such as stolen goods, illict and illegal drugs and weapons, illegal immigration and the trafficking of human beings by road and the need for secure parking areas for goods vehicles on the European Transport Road Network.
The project is funded by the European Union and the activities are co-financed by the programme 'Prevention of and Fight against Crime'.
